27 Aug "What Can I do?" Video Devotional
I have a confession to make. I have a disease, and it starts with the letter “C.” No, it’s not cancer, but it could be as invasive. It’s called COMPLAINING!
My husband has a favorite phrase that he often shoots often from the hip like a loaded gun ready to take aim. He says, “Don’t complain about it, Annie, do something about it.”
Just last week, the second day of school, to be exact. I had grand plans of learning new social media skills, marketing my middle school boys Bible study, eating lunch with a friend, responding to emails, organizing business receipts, and having a long quiet time to study for my new women’s Bible study called Riding Tandem.
The night before, I got a text from a dear friend asking me to watch her two-year-old in the morning so she could go to a doctor’s appointment. My first thoughts? I have to be honest, this is my confession, right? It was an interruption into my plan. After all, it was only the second day of school!
As the Holy Spirit quickly kicked in (Praise God), I immediately said, “YES!” and began thinking of all that I could do during these two hours. Isn’t that just like women?
I immediately thought of going on a long walk, and that is precisely what God wanted me to do (not to mention, I did get to listen to a little of Joyce Meyer!).
Stop COMPLAINING about it . . . DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
God RICHLY blessed my time with Jack (I mean, just look at this cute boy!)
And guess what?
That afternoon, I still had time for marketing, eating, responding, organizing, and studying.
YES. GOD multiplied my time and blessed me beyond measure!

I imagine lots of fun, laughter, and deep perspective on the road you have traveled. Looking forward to working with you and the women at City Rescue. In your home, you are likely to have the resource you need to solve that problem or the ingredient you need to cook that meal. Sometimes our greatest trials are our greatest teachers.

You are so right that God often has our resources right under our nose. And as hard as trials are . . . you nailed it, they are our greatest teachers. Maybe think about writing a blog for ThouArtExalted! I know I would be blessed as well as MANY to hear your story! Pray about this. I’m praying too.
