Glue guns were not around in the 1970’s.
Shame. Shame. Despite this setback, God still put the creative gene in my DNA.
Being the 4th daughter, my sweet Daddy tried everything from golf clubs to fishing poles yet pointe shoes and art brushes were more my speed. My childhood days were spent mostly in ballet studios, playing neighborhood kick-the-can, and trying to fit into the clothes of my three older sisters.
When my best friend was killed in a boating accident on my 17th birthday, Jesus rocked my world. My simple childhood faith was shaken, and I began to question the goodness of God. I remember being angry and stomping in to my mom’s room and asking her what it really meant to be “saved.” That’s when she shared with me The Assurance Letter that would change my life. Forever.
For the first time, I understood that because of my sinful nature, I was separated from a Holy God who longed to have a relationship with me. He loved me, Annie, so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to replace my sin for His Holiness. No more hand-me-downs, I was worth so much more—a daughter of the King.
God’s Word took root in high school but grew leaps and bounds in college. I took off my pointe shoes and spent long summer days doing youth ministry. I was a true “calico-ministry cat” serving Young Life, Campus Crusade, and Kanakuk. After graduating from SMU in 1992, God led me into full-time ministry with Young Life to serve overseas with Military Community Youth Ministry in Heidelberg, Germany followed by one year in Jacksonville. I left YL to study graphic design and illustration at the Portfolio Center in Atlanta. One year later, I met my sweet husband, moved back to Jacksonville, and opened up my own graphic design business, Annie Pajcic Design.
ThouArtExalted began in my living room with 20 4th-grade girls. Finding my daughter was too young for the heavier issues of high school yet too old for the VBS-style Bible studies, I began designing and writing summer curriculum based on age-appropriate Scripture combining it with ART. Twelve years later, TAE (ThouArtExalted) is now a Non-Profit (501C3) and reaches women, teens, and boys. I have written and designed 15 Bible studies, created a free year-long APP reading through the New Testament, speak, and continue developing creative Scripture products reminding us of His powerful Word.
My passion is to write and design Bible studies that are infused with artistic creativity, inspiring tweens, teens, and women to LIVE for Jesus. Not just on Sundays. Not just when something goes wrong. But in every day called LIFE. You do not have to wait until you are 17 to discover that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He is my all in all. My passion is to use my gifts of creativity to equip others to have a personal relationship with the Master Creator. Grab your Bible and your paintbrush. Here we go!
