Growing up, my sister always told me that when we get to heaven we will be AMAZED how much power we had on earth through prayer. Prayer is powerful. It’s our connection to a personal relationship with Christ. Even when we don’t know what to pray for Romans 8:26 tells us the Holy Spirit does. “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words (English Standard Version). WHEW . . . thank goodness we have the Holy Sprit! If we read on in Romans 8:34, we also have Jesus interceding for us! We’ve got a great team girls. Let’s connect to some power today! We can’t do this on our own strength.

Dare of the Day: Ask someone to pray for you.  Let that person in on what is really happening in your life, and receive love and support through prayer.

Challenge Option: Make a prayer card with your child, a spouse, a friend, a grandparent, etc. and exchange them.  Take it with you, and agree to pray for one another. (For example, write 3 ways your daughter can pray for you on a card, and then give that to her.  She does the same for you).

Here’s a FREE DOWNLOAD of a prayer card from my book, Journal with Me: A mother/daughter devotional journey on Philippians 4:4-6. These prayer cards are a great way to open up communication with your tween/teen daughter!
