It’s been a while since I checked in with an update on our FREE APP for tween/teen girls so I thought I’d stop in this morning to let you know that we are moving full steam ahead!
Our team has our first official app training TODAY and we could not be more excited. We are really praying BIG PRAYERS that girls all over the world will be equipped with the knowledge of Christ through this app!
As our team presses on to learn the ins and outs of the app to prepare for our January 2017 launch, I thought you might like to read another one of the devotionals from one of our fabulous app team writers, Cecilia Glenn.

Faith Over Fear

And He awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘Peace! Be still!’ And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, ‘Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?’ Mark 4:39-40
Imagine you are in a boat with your peers when suddenly, massive life-threatening waves come crashing around you. And the man you’ve been following, who has performed miracle after miracle, is fast asleep! Whenever I read this I find myself siding with the disciples. My initial reaction is that they are justified in their fear. I would wake Him up, too!
So why is it that Jesus challenges His disciples as if He is disappointed by their actions?
The disciples had watched and listened to Jesus teach to thousands. They had VIP access to Him and saw firsthand truths that would change everything. And yet, they could not even make it to the other side of the lake before they doubted His ways.
Does any of this ring a bell? It does for me! Think of areas in your life where things seem out of control or impossible. You might be praying to Jesus for help or guidance, but when you don’t see the immediate results, you think: Why isn’t God doing anything about this? Does He not see what I’m going through?
The truth is, He does. He knows and sees all, and He’s got it. There is no storm that is too big or too small for Him to calm. Our role is to have faith – to believe things the way He says them, not the way we feel them.
Prayer: Lord, teach us to put our faith in You. Give us the strength and courage to believe things the way You say them in the Bible, not the way we feel them. Help us believe that You’ve got us, no matter how big or small the storms are in our lives.
Journal Questions: What are some areas in your life that feel impossible or out of your control? Who/what are you turning to in those moments of fear/doubt?
