“So Annie, who handles your PR?” she asked.

Phinney

Phinney

I was tickled by the question, because my answer is . . . Phinney.
Phinehas (his formal name) is our 40 pound golden doodle who sits by my computer and watches me write, create, edit, design, market, etc, . . . .
No, his name is not associated with the TV show Phineas and Ferb, but the biblical character, Phinehas, who was a high priest of Israel. He was known for his zeal in the Lord and standing up against heresy.
On any given day, my “Phinney” can take the role of marketing director, graphic designer, accountant, or social media consultant. Just kidding! While I do not have anyone on “staff” to help me with the different aspects of my ministry, I find encouragement with these words from Exodus 4:12,15 (b): “Now go: I will help you speak and teach you what to say . . . . I will teach you what to do.” God did not give Moses a five-year strategy plan. He did not give him search engine optimization goals. God did not give Moses a PR director. God simply told him TO GO.
Do you ever feel uncertain about the next step you should take? In your job? As a parent? As a student? God will teach you what to say and God will teach you what to do. It’s a promise! I must admit, ministry can be lonely sometimes. What’s my next study going to be, Lord? How am I going to get this study online for teenage girls? GO TO GOD. Ask Him. James reminds us that we need to ask for wisdom (James 1:5), believe and do not doubt (James 1:6), check the motives of your heart (James 4:3), and draw NEAR to God for he will draw near to you (James 4:8). God will direct our steps.

Lord, thank you that YOU know my every need. Even when I feel lost in decision making, You promise to teach me what to say and what to do. You love me enough to give me the wisdom and provision I need for each and everyday. You are my Public Relations Director. May I have zeal for your WORD, strength to fight my doubt, and trust that you will light my path . . . each step of the way. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
