Where has the seed (the Word of God) fallen in your life? Is your life too busy for God? Are you thirsty for worldly things? Do you feel choked by worry?
Here are three Biblical Truths to help fertilize your faith and maintain a healthy relationship with the Master Gardener:

  1. PRAYER – Get rid of the weeds

“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.  See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24

How can you pray this prayer each morning to “pull the weeds” from your life?

  1. CONFESS – Bring out the bug spray

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

Use your imagination. How is confessing our sin like a bugspray? How do we confess our sins?

  1. REMAIN – Remain IN the Vine

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.  I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:4-5

Just as a branch will die if it’s not connected to the vine, so will we. We will lose sight of Jesus if we detach from His presence. We need to seek the Master Gardener every day.

When we believe in Jesus, the Word (the seed) begins to sprout up in us. Seeds are meant to grow and remain attached to the Living Source. So are we. Romans 3:22-23 tells us that without faith in Christ, we fall short of God’s glory. But receiving Jesus allows us to live life abundantly and forever.
When we spend time with God, look to the Holy Spirit for encouragement, pray, hear God’s Word, and take action, we are planting the seed of Jesus into our hearts. Now that’s good news!
