Psalm 139:23-24 New Living Translation (NLT)

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”

Do you think a decision today can effect your tomorrow? A decision I made twenty-two years ago effects God’s LEADING today ~ December 3rd, 2015.
Twenty-two years ago, God LEAD me to go on staff with Young Life in Heidelberg, Germany. God LEAD me to a wonderful American family that took care of me. This family became my family. We’ve been through college life, married life, single life, births, deaths, suffering, joy, and lots of deep conversations in the company of delicious hot tea.
Today, God LEADS us once again. My husband is helping the family I so dearly love … Twenty-two years later. Do our decisions have everlasting impacts? You bet they do!

My prayer for us today is to look closely at Psalm 139:23-24. Ask the Lord to search your heart – see if there is anything offensive in you. Why? His desire is to LEAD us into everlasting life. Everlasting is eternal, and our everyday choices have eternal implications. Our present choices have more weight than we think. They matter.
They mattered years ago when I made the decision to follow God’s LEAD to Germany. God saw ahead how that decision would effect today – December 3, 2015. When we ask God to search our hearts, we are asking Him to LEAD us to make good choices that will impact HIS Kingdom … forever. Think about that! Every little decision you make today has the power to change a life and bring God glory. Let’s make “eternal NOW” decisions. You never know where they may LEAD!
(I painted this angel in one of my sister’s art classes … She reminds me of the Eternal Now!)
