ThouArtExalted began with 20 girls in my living room. I had no idea where God would take a simple desire to gather my daughter and her closest friends together one summer. I knew she was struggling with the issues of growing up and like many moms, I wanted something more for her. I wanted her to believe in her God-given individual gifts and talents. I wanted her to know she was special and uniquely made. I wanted her to know she had a purpose and a plan. Most importantly, I wanted her to know Jesus. Personally. Experientially. Creatively. Thus began the start of Art Camp and the journey of TAE—combining the study of God’s Word with the infusion of Art.
Fast forward to 2016. We are about to embark on our TENTH summer of Art Camp for girls! What started as 20 girls in my living room, God has multiplied to include not one, but three weeks of Art Camp to reach more than 200 girls in the Jacksonville area.
Because of Art Camp, I have had the privilege of loving on and sharing Jesus with some of the most precious girls. YOUR girls. Girls like Sophia Hope and Hannah Grace Christian. Sophia and Hannah are twin sisters who have a very special bond and an amazing story. It was a blessing to have them join us at Art Camp for the first time last summer. Last year, March of Dimes chose the Christian family as ambassadors for the organization whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
